You Are What You Eat
The old saying is that you are what you eat, but we have used our purchasing power to distance ourselves from what we eat. Just because you buy food from the grocery store does not mean you know what you are getting.
Think back to your dinner yesterday or breakfast this morning. Do you know everything that was done to it? Do you know how it was treated? If you are depending on the grocery store then you do not have a relationship with the food and hoping that it is ok.
The Food Safety that we all rely on to keep us safe inevitably traces back to the large Corporate farms that our current system promotes. The same government that can not secure our borders is incapable of making sure the food supply is safe.
I have discussed the milk storm troopers storming farms and despite the fact that our ancestors drank raw milk it is almost impossible to buy it. This is a shame and and one that needs to be corrected. Just yesterday someone asked me if I knew where to get some goat milk. The demand is there, but regulations prohibit the actual commerce.
Where is the country of our forefathers? When are we going to realize that faster more mechanical means are not the best way for us. If we can not choose the best option in food that fuels our bodies what chance do we have for less important things?
If we are what we eat then we need to purchase or grow only the best. We owe it to our children to make sure that all the options are on the table and we leave it to the consumer to decide what they want.
