Rechargeable Batteries
After discussing the differences in rechargeable batteries lately there are options out there that might surprise you. The technology continues to change and innovate and there are some solid options out there that can be recharged by your portable solar system.
I have come to like the low self discharge (LSD) batteries as they will retain 85% of the charge even if sitting on the shelf for a year. I prefer to get these in Nickel Metal Hydride(Ni-MH) as they are drop in replacements for akaline batteries. There are many options but I will give you two options that I have heard recommendations on.
The tenergy is one that has 1000 cycles and comes well recommended. I am interested in giving this battery a shot as it have no memory effect and designed for high drain devices.
The other that I have heard about is the Sanyo eneloop. I have heard several good things about these and am interested in trying one of these as well.
What have my readers seen with their battery usage? Are you stuck on alkaline or got your rechargeable batteries in place with the ability to recharge with your portable solar.
