Hell Around the Horn by Rick Spillman

Today we have a great book if you like sailing in Hell Around the Horn by Rick Spillman. This features a crew on a windjammer that is taking a load of coal from the England to Chile and need to transit around Cape Horn. This was a great tale about the perils of sailing on the old boats.

The author did a great job of telling the stories and relating to the readers just how hazardous the old days were when depending on the power of the wind. You get the first hand account from four different people in this novel. I highly recommend this book if you have any interest in sailing or want to understand what it would be like to sail from the United Kingdom to Chile.
