Jesus Disciples

Talking about Jesus Disciples this morning was not planned by me. Son #1 had his Saturday morning soccer game as usual. What a glorious morning to be outside enjoying God’s creation. The half-time devotional was outstanding. The basis was from the memory verse of the week.

Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 (NIV)

The speaker related to all in attendance that we all can be a part of Jesus’s team, but we have to ask. He also indicated that in life there are no sidelines or time-outs that we are all Jesus Disciples at all time if we are on the team.

How many sermons, preachers, witnesses have stumbled while trying to convey the message that a half-time devotional hammered home. The message resonated from those that are five all the way to the grandparents.

How many are willing to take up the cross and be a Jesus Disciple? It is a job that guarantees persecution!

25And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

26If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

27And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:25-27 (KJV)

What a gorgeous day to contemplate the true costs and making sure that one plans to carry the cross. Christ,Jesus can count on me.
