Silent Night History
Today On Christmas let us review Silent Night History. This is my favorite Christmas hymn and song.
The original six stanzas of the hymn were written in 1816. This makes it a fairly old hymn in my opinion. It is one that sounds just as good with a single guitar or piano.
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin, mother and Child
Holy infant, so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peaceSilent night, holy night
Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of grace
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birthSilent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin, mother and Child
Holy infant, so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Wow! What great news as today we celebrate Christmas! The
Christ child
is here for all of us. An event that is so magnificent that the Shepherd’s rejoiced. It caused 3 wise men to seek him and bring him gifts.
As strong and moving as that there was no room in the Inn.
Our merciful God was born in a stable.
This is very true… We sang this in church on Christmas morning. It is very beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by TNDadx4! There is no hymn that means more to me!
