LED headlamp

I am a sucker for an LED headlamp as they truly offer a hands free tool that seems to run forever! I was browsing the aisle the other night and saw this Coleman LED headlamp and was amazed that listed an output of 75 lumens. It features a Cree X-Lamp XR-C LED and runs on three AAA batteries.

This headlamp has a swivel to adjust the direction of the light. It works well and there are three settings for the light. The high setting is listed as 75 lumens with a run time of 11 hours. It advertises a distance of over 140 feet visibility at this distance.

That is a long distance and I can say that it is probably very close. I could see people using this for coon hunting as it lit up the trunk of a tree at about that distance. It is very powerful and a testament to the Cree X-Lamp XR-C LED headlamp.

The intermediate setting offers 43 lumens and a runtime of 20 hours. This projects just over 100 feet. This LED headlamp delivers some power connected to the head. The lowest setting is 15 lumens with a runtime of 55 hours. It projects over 32 feet and is a very respectful setting.

The benefit to using an LED headlamp is that they virtually will last forever and will not need to be replaced. They also offer some weather resistance so that if they get wet it is not the end of the day. It is mystifying to me that something that is so little can deliver something so powerful with such little juice.

This Coleman featuring a Cree X-Lamp XR-C LED headlamp was a very good bargain and I have been impressed with the brightness. It remains to be seen about the runtime, but I can see first hand the power of the Cree X-Lamp XR-C LED headlamp. It will not be my last LED Headlamp.
