Battery Venting
One key step in your solar planning process is battery venting! It does not matter whether you have planned quiet evenings on the water with flounder lights, needing to recharge small devices, or focused on solar lights and off grid lights do not forget battery venting.
The top possible issue if you have not planned for battery venting is the buildup of hydrogen gas. There are several different ways this could ignite but you can imagine that it would not end well. This quick flash may not ignite a fire, but it would certainly leave a mess.
The usual critical time when the battery venting is needed is when the batteries are charging. It is important to remember that and also to have the battery bank plainly labelled. If you are planning a big battery bank or even just one battery you owe it to consider battery venting as it is an important step.
