Bountiful Harvest
Bountiful Harvest was written by Frances Crosby and it seems to fit at this time of the year.
We praise Thee, O Lord, for the bountiful harvest
That now has been gathered and garnered with care;
Rewarding the toil of the sower and reaper,
While all in its blessings may share.
Refrain
For the bountiful harvest
We praise Thee, we thank Thee and bless Thee, O Lord:
For the bountiful harvest
We praise Thee and bless Thee, O Lord.
We praise Thee, O Lord, for the bountiful harvest,
We praise Thee for sunshine, the dew and the rain;
For soft summer breezes so gracefully bending
The bright golden billows of grain.
Well this hymn certainly seems to put the right perspective on things. It is amazing to me that the lady writing the words was blind. That shows that the blessings still need to be directed in the right way.
She obviously wrote this at a time that we were still in an agrarian society. It still reflects true today on what we should be asking. That God will regard thy people.
Who of us can say we praise God for the sunshine, dew, and rain. It it important to remember him during all the times. No matter if the weather is good or bad depending on your viewpoint we should praise him.
The bountiful harvest can be related to crops or a check that comes in. We should always praise God as all the glory goes to him. All the rewards that we are blessed with are by him.
I challenge everyone of my three readers to praise him during all the seasons. Whether it is For soft summer breezes so gracefully bending or hard winter breezes cutting to the bone. In all seasons in between let us ;praise God for the bountiful harvest.
