Drug War foreshadows any Gun Control Program

There is a great example for anyone that thinks restricting guns as the drug war foreshadows any gun control program. Anyone that thinks the current discussion to ban or restrict an intimate object just needs to look too the ongoing Drug War to see that it will never work. The costs too society are astronomical when you factor in the taxes to support the courts, law enforcement, suppression, law making, etc for just trying to enforce the current drug war. That does not even begin to help the actual users that have an issue.

Does anyone really think that the Federal government can restrict guns and prevent the criminal use of guns? Despite oppressive laws and huge amounts spent on the enforcement of the current Drug war the reality is that a ton of black market money is involved and the drugs are still available almost wherever one wants them.

The drug war foreshadows any gun control program by showing us that costs to enforce will go up and people that are intent to illegally obtain guns will still get them. The only ones that will be disarmed are the law abiding citizens. Once again the lawful citizens will have to pick up the tabs on both sides and their lives will be endangered even further. There has to be a better way.

Folks can look as the drug war foreshadows any gun control program. We must do what it takes to ensure that we block any attempt to legislate it. The Federal government has proven that it continues to grow unabated and seldom relinquishes control. They are getting better at pushing the costs down to the state level without any input. The states and the citizens need to push back and demand no gun control. Let the law abiding citizens all the rights to protect themselves from the criminals and a tyrannical government.
