Stumpy Point

As my Kindle tweeted before I finished reading A history of Stumpy Point by Harold Wise. This was a great book that told me exactly how Stumpy Point was started. It was a fishing town from the get go and was so isolated that water was the highway for the longest time.

Ever since my parents threatened to move us to Stumpy Point I can tell you that even today Stumpy Point is way out there.

The author does a great job explaining how the farming got started in Stumpy Point and the businesses got started. I learned a lot about Stumpy Point and it was a very easy read.

I would encourage anyone that wants to learn a little bit about the development of a small North Carolina Coastal town give it a read.
