Plans Rumbling around in the head

Plans Rumbling

There are plans rumbling around in the head. Remember as children when people asked you what you wanted to do when you grow up? I am not sure what crazy plans I said.

As long as I can remember I have wanted to run my own business. I remember a teacher (Cecil Heath) in high school asking me why I could not do it. I answered that there was no reason I could not. Well it has been a few years since high school and I still do not run my own business. It does not stop me from thinking about different types of businesses.

The plans rumbling in my head lately have changed. It used to be I thought of a little hot dog stand or maybe a small book store. While both of those could be fun the business plans do not currently work in my favor.

One thing that I have been thinking about since about 2004 would be an on-line place to track your fuel mileage, purchases, and general car maintenance. Who can ever remember when you changed the oil or air filter?

I never got past the preliminary stages due to life getting in the way. I was interested when an acquaintance did something similar. Let me introduce you to fuelfrog.plans rumbling on the fuelfrog logo

You can read how they decided to start the company and about fuelfrog in general. I hope they do very well with the endeavour. There is something to be said for getting to market with something.

I really like how they tied in twitter and mobile devices for updates. I think there are some improvements that could be made. It appears 2nd Pixel would not mind getting out of the fuel frog business. I am guessing that they wanted more than $755.

When you look at something as in depth as fuelfrog you would hope to get at least 4 digits out of it. I tend to reflect on the opportunity cost for me by letting life get in the way. The true value can not be arrived at as the business valuation is just a guess.

I have seen some of my plans get started and established by others with a high degree of success. I need to figure out how to overcome some of the financial constraints and just do it!
