Nation of Riflemen got their Wake Up Call

The recent events out of Boston was a clear shot as a nation of riflemen got their wakeup call. I was reading a great article from a criminal defense lawyer about the beginning of a police state. There is no longer any doubt what the modus operandi for law enforcement is given a threat. They will not hesitate to inconvenience innocent people and ask them to shelter in place so they can accomplish their goals.

There is no doubt that they will infringe upon anyone’s rights to accomplish their objectives. The reality is that no longer can a person have a reasonable expectation to go anywhere on a public street without making sure their papers or timing are in order. This is the type of stuff you would have expected in the old Communist Eastern Bloc and not the United States of America.

We have traded freedom and liberty for an illusion of safety. At any given time some knucklehead may impede your ability to pursue happiness. These are fundamental rights that are given to us by God and no longer can we expect to have them at all times. These are serious issues that should not be taken lightly.

It is ironic that this further degradation of our rights came in the same area as the original minutemen showed the world that we would no longer be enslaved to a King across the ocean. It is now time as a nation of riflemen got their wake up call and saw the events unfold in Boston. It is time to end the usurpation of power by the Federal government.
